02/05 Tamil & Sri Lankan · Stokes Croft
Nadu
Nadu means land — the source of everything on the plate.
The restaurant
Nadu sits in Stokes Croft, which is the right address for it — a restaurant with something to say, in the part of Bristol that has never been quiet.
The cooking is Tamil and Sri Lankan, done traditionally and then pushed: hoppers and sambols, slow-cooked mutton, coconut and curry leaf and tamarind used the way they are used at home rather than the way they are used on a British curry menu. The bar takes rum seriously.
The name means land. Everything on the plate comes from somewhere, and the kitchen would like you to taste where.
Coconut, curry leaf and tamarind, used the way they are used at home.
★★★★★
This restaurant is my absolute favourite in Bristol, the food is incredible, cocktails insane & the service is immaculate!
